Should we really celebrate christmass?.

No doubt Paul suffered much in the name of Christ; in fact all the apostles were martyred, except John. However, even before Paul's beheading he endured beatings, floggings, ridicule and scorn and many sought to kill him. Maybe he was tempted when people revered him as a god or anything other then a mere mortal man who served God. Yet he raised the dead, healed the sick and most importantly did the will of God by preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ as he was called to do.

In Paul's epistles he expressed his love for Jesus Christ and those to whom he preached and received the word of God. His relentless and persistent ministry to bring the good news of Jesus to gentiles and Jews alike was his life mission. From town to town and jail to jail, beating after beating, he endured and taught God's word. Yet he had a thorn so bothersome to him that at least three times he prayed to God to remove this thorn from him; presumably to better serve the Lord God.

God could have, but did not remove the thorn. To exalt His holy name, to glorify His strength and that we may truly love Him with faith, God replied -- My grace is sufficient for thee... in our weakness is God's strength, and He is always perfect! We become strong through God's perfect grace when we keep our faith, when we can no longer go on but somehow we do. We can not alone endure our trials and tribulations but God's strength gets us through and allows us to continue so that we may do His will. Yet too often at these low points and troublesome moments we may feel that God has forgotten about us, and we are left to go it alone. Not true! God will not let us fail because His grace is all we truly need!

2Corinthians 12:7-10
(7) And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
(
8) For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
(
9) And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
(
10) Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

God will not let us fail when we have faith in Him, that is His grace, His gift to us even though we may feel abandoned, helpless and in despair, tempted and fighting an uphill battle with demons at all sides. If we endure, we will prevail because God is our strength, and our faith in Him, especially at our weakest moments, pleases God.

Hebrews 11:6
(6) But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
