What is religion? Religion is by definition a set of rules for one to follow. Being a disciple of Christ is not about rules and following them. It is however about obedience to God and His will. It is also about having faith in His Son. Which religion of the time did Jesus attempt to build bridges too? Jesus simply spoke of the truth and those who had the love of God in their heart heard this truth, those who did not called Him a heretic. Which of the apostles attempted to "bridge the gap" between religions? Did Paul say to the Greeks, "let us talk about your ideas, let me pay respect to your god" of course not! Were not all the apostles brutally murdered for their faith, save John? This question leads us to the practice of modern day "Christians" watering down the Gospel of Christ in order to show respect to a particular religion. Make no mistake here -- no man shall disrespect another. So denigrating another or bad mouthing them is wrong. Jesus said to love our enemies, and that what comes out of a man's mouth is what defiles him. Should Christians acknowledge false religions, obviously not, the Bible is clear on that, and Jesus said that if you are not with Him, you are against Him. So why do so many "Christians" feel they can bridge the gap from Christianity to a false religion? Is there a gap to bridge? Muslims deny the deity of Jesus Christ, so do Jews who practice Judaism, as well as every other religion. What gap is there to bridge? Should Laura Bush have gone to the Temple Mount and paid respect to a false god? Of course not, yet she felt compelled, or she was ordered to do this. She does nothing for Christianity and only denies the deity of Christ by acknowledging that there is another god. This is absurd, why would a Christian do this? She alone will have to answer. The current pope wants to bridge the gap between religions. Is there a gap that he alone can bridge, one that Jesus Himself did not recognize or acknowledge? Jesus was clear, there is only one God, and Jesus is His Son, and the only way to heaven is through Him -- it's a no brainer. The only way for a person who currently adheres to a religion such as Judaism, or Islam, is to deny that religion and accept Jesus Christ into their heart, recognizing that He died for our sins. Moreover the pope wants to force Roman Catholics to adhere strictly to the doctrine of Rome even though this is clearly a contrary to what Jesus Himself taught. Is any man infallible? The pope believes this as do many Roman Catholics. Or what sin can God not forgive that a Roman Catholic Bishop alone can forgive? Ask any Roman Catholic and they will tell you that some sins can not be forgiven unless the Bishop himself forgives them -- this is according to Roman Catholic doctrine. So Roman Catholicism is equal to Islam in that they practice ungodly principles. At least a muslim is not a hypocrite because they truly want nothing to do with Christianity. Virtually every muslim nation has a law that outlaws Christianity. I encourage all Roman Catholics to visit Just for Catholics So do we respect these false religions and understand that they worship the same god we do? No. Laura Bush should not have gone to the Temple Mount. By doing so she paid respect to a god that does not exist. When will the Jews and the Muslims come together in peace? They won't, but for a short time when the anti-christ arranges for this they might. Prophecy is quite clear -- the kings of the world will encircle Jerusalem in order to kill them all and destroy Jerusalem. This is when Jesus will return, and not before. There is no bridging the gap between religions because no gap exists. Either you are for Christ or you are not.
May the love of Jesus Christ be with you all. Your brother through Christ Jesus Amen
