The day of our LORD -- the second coming. The thought of it often evokes apocalyptic images of death and destruction with the likes never before seen. With good reason; when Jesus returns it is for judgment before the thousand year reign of peace with Christ, but it is not final judgment day. Yet before this happens the false prophet and anti-christ shall deceive many, many people into believing their lies and receiving the mark of the beast. However when Jesus returns, their judgment [false prophet and anti-christ] is immediate and for eternity, perhaps all the wicked who are alive that day shall also be judged. Revelation 19:20 (20) And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. Yet the most consistent message in the New Testament is about faith in God, no matter what! including the great apostasy and the rise of the anti-christ: 2Thessalonians 2:1-5 (1) Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and [by] our gathering together unto him, (2) That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. (3) Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; (4) Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. (5) Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? For us today this means keeping faith in Jesus even when the anti-christ does come to power and people begin to realize that there is no rapture: Revelation 13:7 (7) And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. Obviously these saints are the elect, the true believers in Jesus who follow the truth, read on: 2Thessalonians 2:7-12 (7) For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth [will let], until he be taken out of the way. (8) And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: (9) [Even him], whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, (10) And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. (11) And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: (12) That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. God is going to send a strong delusion to non believers so they will believe the anti-christ and his lies. So it seems very unlikely that anyone who does not believe in God's truth and follow Jesus before the anti-christ, will be saved during the reign of the anti-christ; this means people need to prepare now and become a true disciple of Jesus and follow His teachings in order that we do the will of God. Yet the Bible and other scriptures offer some very encouraging words, that when read with faith indicate God is our protector and we need not fear, for many shall see the reward of the wicked. Here is only one writing to offer us comfort and truth. Psalm 91 (1) He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. (2) I will say of the LORD, [He is] my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. (3) Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, [and] from the noisome pestilence. (4) He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth [shall be thy] shield and buckler. (5) Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; [nor] for the arrow [that] flieth by day; (6) [Nor] for the pestilence [that] walketh in darkness; [nor] for the destruction [that] wasteth at noonday. (7) A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; [but] it shall not come nigh thee. (8) Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. (9) Because thou hast made the LORD, [which is] my refuge, [even] the most High, thy habitation; (10) There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. (11) For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. (12) They shall bear thee up in [their] hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. (13) Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. (14) Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. (15) He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I [will be] with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. (16) With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. Please keep believing in Jesus and strive every day to carry your cross, and follow Jesus. Seek God in all you do and His truth; He will reveal Himself to those who truly seek Him. Do not be deceived, for it is written: Acts of the Apostles 14:22 (22) Confirming the souls of the disciples, [and] exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
